Moreover, their service is not limited within Arkansas but they also expand their business to customers in eastern Oklahoma. They’re famous for being the largest in their region and having a wide range of furniture, appliances, and mattress selection. They promise to provide customers with a ‘no-pressure’ shopping experience. Their customers are free to browse around while considering plenty of items. These items are in stock, so there's no need to order and wait weeks to receive the purchase. And usually, buyers usually can have their desired products in hand the same day they purchase. Challenges in having configurable sales tax integrated into the POS system The configurable sales tax is a handy feature that helps synchronize tax settings with your platform’s settings. Particularly when Washburn’s Home Furnishings is doing their business in the USA - where taxes are varying and significantly different states. That’s why having a POS with the functionality to automatically calculate multiple tax levels is vital to their business. Indeed, Washburn’s Home Furnishings always believes that such a feature will definitely help draw in more customers if it can be integrated into their POS system. However, the standard version of their previous POS - Shopify POS - doesn’t offer the configurable sales tax feature. They have noticed there are many forum posts from Shopify users, just like them, demanding Shopify to implement the feature. However, Shopify refused to do so. That’s when ConnectPOS came to the rescue. More than that, they found the system UI (user interface) and UX (user experience) extremely favorable and user friendly. Having decided on ConnectPOS, Washburn’s Home Furnishings requested 2-week of ConnectPOS integration into their POS system. So everything needs to be done neat and clean. In fact, it took ConnectPOS 1 week to test the normal features and exactly 2 more weeks to implement the configurable sales tax feature for Washburn’s Home Furnishings. How configurable sales tax feature works in ConnectPOS After the installation, ConnectPOS works well in synchronizing tax settings with the retailer’s platform’s settings. Taxes are calculated in ConnectPOS even when the internet connection is down or unstable thanks to its powerful offline mode. In Shopify, and other e-commerce platforms that ConnectPOS integrates with, the tax is calculated based on: Product tax class Customer tax class Address for calculating tax (shipping address, billing address, or shipping origin) ConnectPOS pulls the Product tax class and Customer tax class data from e-commerce platforms like Magento or Shopify automatically with the real-time synchronization functionality. Therefore, all Washburn’s Home Furnishings need to do is configure the “Address for calculating tax” merely. That makes work so much easier and less complicated for retailers like them. What makes ConnectPOS really stand out as a robust POS software with a powerful configurable sales tax feature is its full compatibility with e-commerce platforms. Normally, with some other POS, staff members have to send the information to e-commerce platforms for tax calculation and then wait for the returned results. The time needed depends heavily on internet speed. And in case the internet is down or unstable, it’s likely to get the wrong grand total results. ConnectPOS, on the other hand, synchronizes the tax settings from e-commerce platforms to POS and calculates taxes directly in POS, following strict rules. It fastens the processes and ensures that users can always get the right result even in offline mode.
